We love strawberries in every form at our house, and a big strawberry favorite is this Polish childhood classic of Macaroni with Strawberries, in this case, the creamy version.
We wait for strawberry season every year to make Macaroni with Strawberries or Makaron z truskawkami in Polish. I don't know who is more excited, me or the kids. I may have planted strawberries in the garden, exclusively for this dish. Who knows? 😉
Macaroni with Strawberries is fast and easy and so delicious. Give it a try this strawberry season.
Prepare macaroni of your choice according to the package directions.
Clean the strawberries and remove the stems. Reserve some strawberries to chop for the top of the dish.
Add the rest of the strawberries, the cream or yogurt, the sugar, and vanilla to a blender and mix.
If you'd like a chunkier sauce, you can use a masher or blend the strawberries in parts, only giving the last added strawberries a quick blitz with the blender.
Pour the strawberry sauce over the cooked macaroni. It can be served warm or cold. You can also top with some farmer's cheese for a heartier meal.
I hope you enjoy it.
Smacznego to you!
